Fly away my love
fly into the distance
the day you left
the heavens cried
and matched all my tears.
Fly away and don't look back
remember only the love
the good times and laughter
fly away and soar again
we had our time
we were so close
too close
we were the earth
and the moon
Now fly back to your mate
the one who shares your nest
who makes you happy
and dries your tears
who holds you
where I cannot
Now fly away my love
remember
tears will dry
pain will ease
scars will fade
and so
sadly
does love.
