Once upon a time
On a cold winter's morn
Three eagles flew above the earth
And one baby girl was born.
This newborn baby's mother
Couldn't keep her tiny curly top
So she wrapped her in a blanket
And left her near a mountain top.
Now it seems one bird was heavy
With some babies of her own.
So she swooped up that blanket
And went off all alone.
She found the perfect hiding place
And made herself a nest.
There she laid her tiny eggs
And put that baby with the rest.
She kept that baby warm all winter
And fed her every day.
She loved her and became her mom
And with her she did stay.
It wasn't long until her own
Were grown and off they flew
But this beautiful mama bird
Had a toddler with her too.
The little girl would giggle
On the wings of mamabird
As the two of them would fly
All across the land and rivers
Amid the clouds so high.
One day they saw a lonely couple
With no children of their own
And mama bird in her own way
Left her baby to them unknown.
The happy couple raised her
And she loved them from the start
But their daughter always kept
Her eagle mother in her heart.
Now and then she wanders
To the mountains near the sky
And as her spirit leaves her
She and mama eagle fly.
