The One You Loved Before

Today I met your other love
The one that came before me.
I couldn't help but like her
And her words help to set me free.

Everything she wrote about you
I could have said the same.
All those words you said to me
Were hers replaced with my name.

How sad it is to see you
In a very different light.
You couldn't even be original
When you pledged your love each night.

How many others were there
That thought they were your true love?
How many more will be convinced
That your love's from Heaven above?

Yes, I met your love that came before me
And I saw you through her eyes
You always told me I was special
And I believed in all your lies.

My biggest fear right now is
You'll come back to me some day
And somehow chain my heart to yours
With those games you like to play.

I'm finally getting over you
And someday I won't love you anymore
Meanwhile... I'm learning all about you
From the one you loved before.
